As Program Director of Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Family Medicine Residency Program, I invite you to get to know our unique program. This is an exciting time to embark on a career in Family Medicine and an important juncture in your professional training as you decide on a residency program.

The Baptist Health Deaconess Family Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME accredited 3 year post-graduate training program. Our program has achieved the highest level of recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home by the National committee for Quality Assurance. The goal of our residency program is to train outstanding, curious and compassionate physicians who go on to become leaders in Family Medicine. To achieve that goal, we provide 3 years of comprehensive training in Family Medicine, as well as, significant exposure in the specialties of general Obstetrics, Gynecology, Endocrinology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary and Emergency Medicine.

Our curriculum offers carefully balanced exposure to ambulatory and inpatient medicine. This not only optimizes breadth of training, but also equips our residents with the mentorship they need to plan fruitful and satisfying careers. We are committed to training truly outstanding clinicians, who practice in a range of settings: primary care, hospitalists, clinical subspecialties within family medicine such as geriatrics or women’s health, academic general medicine, ED …the possibilities are endless.

Though rurally located, the patient population is allows for quite a diverse pathology. While we believe in the training that we provide, we constantly strive to improve. In addition to being academically stimulating, out program is supportive to help you realize your full potential. Faculty, residents, and all other healthcare members work as a team with utmost professionalism. When you visit out program, you will find a welcoming and safe environment that is favorable to forming long-term friendships with faculty and fellow residents.
