Erythropoiesis-Stimulating Agent (ESA) Injections
An erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (abbreviated ESA), also known as an erythropoiesis-stimulating drug (ESD) is a medicine similar to erythropoietin, which stimulates red blood cell production (erythropoiesis). ESAs, structurally and biologically, are similar to naturally occurring protein erythropoietin.

Hemodialysis
Hemodialysis is a treatment for kidney failure that uses a machine to filter your blood outside your body. At the start of a hemodialysis treatment, a dialysis nurse or technician places two needles into your arm.

Home Hemodialysis
Home hemodialysis is hemodialysis that a person can do at home using a special machine. A nurse from a dialysis clinic can teach a person how to do hemodialysis at home. The person does not have to buy the machine.

Peritoneal Dialysis
Peritoneal dialysis is a treatment for kidney failure that uses the lining of your abdomen, or belly, to filter your blood inside your body. Doctors call this lining the peritoneum. A doctor will place a soft tube, called a catheter, in your belly a few weeks before you start treatment.

Iron Infusions
An iron infusion is simply a liquid dose of iron given in the veins.

Kidney Biopsy
A kidney biopsy is a procedure used to extract kidney tissue for laboratory analysis. In an open biopsy, or surgical biopsy, your doctor makes a cut in the skin near the kidneys. This allows the physician to look at the kidneys and determine from which area the tissue samples should be taken.

PIRRT- Prolonged Intermittent Renal Replacement Therapy
PIRRT is a hybrid kidney replacement therapy that provides prolonged, intermittent dialysis for patients with acute kidney injury, combining features of both intermittent hemodialysis and continuous therapies.

PIRRT is a dialysis modality designed for patients who require kidney replacement therapy (KRT) but do not fit neatly into standard intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) or continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) categories. It is particularly used in intensive care unit (ICU) patients who are hemodynamically stable enough for intermittent therapy but still benefit from a longer treatment duration than standard IHD.

Pulling water out of your blood at dialysis is “ultrafiltration".

Plasmapheresis
Plasmapheresis is a process in which plasma components are removed from the blood, such as autoantibodies, that can cause autoimmune disease. The basic premise of plasmapheresis is that removal of these substances will reduce further damage, and may permit reversal of the pathogenic process.
