Is Virtual Care Right for Me?

What is Considered a Virtual Visit at Baptist Health Deaconess?

Virtual health care visits at Baptist Health Deaconess include eVisits, urgent care video visits, and scheduled video visits.

  • Scheduled video visits are available whenever your provider's office is open and require an appointment. Find out which Virtual Care visit is the right fit for you.
  • Urgent care video visits are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without an appointment and treat many of the same conditions treated at urgent care locations.
  • eVisits use a symptom-specific questionnaire to get you the care you need, while urgent care video visits and scheduled video visits use video to provide care and treatment.

How Do Scheduled Video Doctor Visits Work?
Scheduled video visits can be used for secure virtual primary care visits or virtual specialists visits whenever your provider's office is open. Scheduled video visits:

  • Require a MyChart account
  • Require a scheduled appointment
  • Use Zoom video on your smartphone, tablet, or computer
  • Are the same cost as an in-person provider visit

What is a Virtual Urgent Care Video Visit?
Urgent care video visits provide access to urgent care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Urgent care video visits:

  • Require a MyChart account
  • Conducted in an on-demand basis
  • Use Zoom video on your smartphone, tablet, or computer
  • Your insurance will be billed for this visit and collect a co-pay per your insurance. Any portion not covered by your insurance plan will be billed and collected after the visit.

How do eVisits Work?
eVisits are a simple way to connect with Baptist Health providers online without an appointment, using an online questionnaire in MyChart. eVisit questionnaires:

  • Require a MyChart account.
  • Are reviewed by a provider and followed up with a treatment plan.
  • Do not require or use video.
  • Your insurance will be billed for this eVisit, if no coverage is found you will be billed for $30.
